Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been named as the richest player in world football, edging his archenemies Cristiano Ronaldo in the rankings.
The Argentine star made a massive profit of £120million last year, £11m more than Cristiano Ronaldo who have been sitting atop for LP some years now.

The figures were calculated based on wages, bonuses, endorsements, commercial revenue and other streams.
Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. is third in the list with £87m, while Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann were placed third and fourth respectively.
Messi must have amassed such great wealth after emerging top of the list of 10 best-paid footballers in 2019, summarised by France Football.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only footballers in the world to ever surpass the £100m mark.
They have been the best in football for decades and it is only fitting for them to be the best in other aspects of the game.
