3 things you should consider before taking your own life

Do you feel overwhelmed by sadness or you feel trapped in a web of pain and can see no means of escape? Do feel so worthless that life has no meaning anymore? If so, you are not alone.

The truth is, we at one time in our lives may feel very dejected, self-loathed, hopeless and isolated. But that is normal, we are humans born with a bunch of mistake and defections.

Suicide may seem tempting, but in reality it is nothing more than a tragic waste. So before you rush into that permanent decision, think about these three things:

Your Heart

When I say your heart, am not referring to that thing on your left chest. Instead am taking about your emotions, desires, and feelings.

Your emotions are just like a boat on a turbulent sea, but a ‘good sailor’ will never watch it sink. Despite how turbulent you situation may appear, always try to be the ‘good sailor’.

A prophetic book pointed out that “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked…”

If that is what our heart is, then ask yourself, are you willing to give up your precious life just because your desperate heart compels you to do so?

“If you want to have a life that is worth living, a life that expresses your deepest feelings and emotions and cares and dreams, you have to fight for it” – Alice Walker

Your Loved ones

Whatever pain you are currently experiencing is very insignificant when compared to the one your loved ones will be subjected to, if you decide to leave them.

They will always feel guilty, traumatized, helpless and hopeless. They will curse themselves as though they led you into it.

Instead of causing ‘unbearable pain’ in the hearts of your loved ones why not let them help you carry your ‘bearable pain’?

It is usually not possible to climb out of a deep pit of depression by yourself. But with the helping hands of your loved ones, you can succeed.

Your action

“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”, according to the formal definition of Newton’s third law of motion.

Do you know that your action could lead to a chain reaction from people who read your story? You may wonder, how?

Like I earlier mentioned, you are not alone in your world. There are thousands of people in the world who have found themselves in a similar situation as yours. They are looking up to you for inspiration. Your decision will greatly impact their decisions.

Your story will be of great value to the society, but you have to live to tell your story.
