Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen got Napoli fans emotional after sharing his touching story of survival on Friday October 9.
In an interview posted on the official Twitter account of Napoli, the 21-year-old striker opened up on his background and his difficult journey to fame and stardom.
Life was quite difficult for the former U-17 World Cup hero, who lost his mother at a very little age. His father who was supposed to take care of the family, lost his job few months after the death of his wife.

Osimhen said he grew up in (Olusosun) one of the poorest city of Lagos and did all sorts of menial jobs including risking his safety to hawk in the busy traffic of Lagos, just to support his family.
According to him, everything about his life has been a struggle for survival. “While other kids were enjoying their youth,” Victor said he “was fighting for life”.
The former Lille frontman also said he looks up to Didier Drogba for inspiration and is working towards becoming the African player of the year.

Almost every Napoli fan who viewed Osimhen’s interview became emotional, with many of them sending their support through social media.
