He also admitted that Real Madrid have missed the goals of the 35-year-old star.
“Talking about [Ronaldo’s ability] seems trivial to me: he is among the best ever,’ Modric told Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by The Sun.
“We missed his goals and character at Real: Cristiano always wants to win, he motivated us and made us react.
“As a person then he is a 10 – he has a big heart and is always ready to help those in need.”
Modric and Ronaldo were teammates for six seasons at Real Madrid, they won four Champions League titles and one La Liga during that period.
Meanwhile Modric, a one-time ballon d’Or winner, has seen his future at the Bernabeu become a subject of debate over the past 12 months and has recently been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
