Real Betis have confirmed the appointment of former Manchester City gaffer Manuel Pellegrini, as their new head coach on a three-year contract.
Pellegrini has been out of work since leaving West Ham around December last year. The Spanish outfit tried to appoint him last year when Quiqe Setien left the club, but failed to do so.
Marca reportedly outlined the Chilean as a favourite for the job earlier this week. He has a wealth of experience in Spanish football, having at one time managed the likes of Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga.

He was Villarreal’s coach between 2004 and 2009 – guiding them to the Champions League semi-final in 2006, before moving to Real Madrid, where he left after just one season having failed to win a trophy.
He further spent three more years at Malaga before heading to Manchester City in 2013.
Meanwhile, Pellegrini will be assisted by the interim manager of Real Betis Alexis Trujillo.
Trujillo is also the club’s sporting director and has been in charge of the club, following the dismissal of Rubi last month.
