The Spanish club Barcelona have acquired the signature of a 19-year-old Ajax right-back Sergiño Gianni Dest.
The Catalan side beat the reigning German and European champions Bayern Munich to sign the full back on a five years deal.
The cost of the operation is 21 million euros plus a further 5 million in variables and with a buyout clause set at 400 million euros.

Dest became very popular and top target for most European clubs after helping lead his side to first place in the Dutch top flight before the campaign was declared null and void due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With his move to the Spanish side, Dest officially became the first American signed by FC Barcelona’s first team, and could become the first to ever feature in a competitive match for the first team
Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch mother and American father, Dest has represented the United States internationally at senior level since.
