Afrobeat star Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, a.k.a. Burna Boy has mentioned the few Nigerians he holds at a very high esteem and would gladly give his last blood for.
While having a conversation with a presenter from Arise New regarding Nigeria at 60, the self acclaimed giant hinted that he has much respect for Nigerians who did every positive things to become who they are. He specifically mentioned 66-year-old Nigerian lawyer Adebayo O. Ogunlesi as someone he respects so much.
“There’s a few hard Nigerians, serious respectable Nigerians whom I would give my last blood for,” he said. “Who have taken it upon themselves and gone out everywhere in the world and done everything to become who they are positively…there are so many of them…people like I named in my song, Adebayo Ogunlesi…”
He continued: “There are so many footballers that have gone and come back to try and do something, that’s the only hope we have, because the leaders that were appointed to do this, are just not cutting it from this point.”
The two-time BET Award winner was also quizzed on what top musicians like himself, Wizkid and the other artists could do to improve the country.
But he said most of the top artists know what the problem is, but none of them has the courage to speak up. He also said that most Nigerian youths lack proper historical knowledge, and are more interested in chasing after money due to the poor condition of the country.
