1. Take little amount of water at a time

Taking water in little amounts at intervals will make it easier for your body to work effectively. Gulping down large amounts of water is not ideal and can have uncomfortable side effects.

 

2. Select your sports drink with the right composition

An ideal sports drink should have optimal levels of carbohydrates and sodium. It should contain about 6% carbohydrates.

3. Check your weight before and after exercising

Weighing yourself before and after exercising will give you signs of how much fluid you need to stay hydrated, and how much fluid you’d lost after an exercise.

 

4. Take more fluid when it’s hot 

You get easily hydrated when you’re hot and sweating. So, taking water or a sports drink when it’s hot is ideal.

 

5. Check body signs 

You can know when you are dehydrated by checking the color of your urine. If your urine gets darker or yellowish, then you are likely to be dehydrated.

You should also drink water when you experience symptoms such as headache or fatigue.
