The world stood still as Nigerian-New Zealand UFC Israel Adesanya Knocks Out Costa in a heated fight Saturday 26th September 2020.
Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight title with a second-round knockout of Brazilian Paulo Costa.
Prior to the fight, Israel Adesanya who is the champion of the middleweight and Paulo Costa spent months trading verbal shots, and Costa who was coming off a big win over Yoel Romero at the UFC 241 pay-per-view event boasted that he will show Adesanya who the big boss is.
He previously beat Uriah Hall on the preliminary portion of the UFC 226 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, Nevada. He entered this fight on a 12-fight winning streak.
but when it came time to step into the Octagon at UFC 253, the only meaningful blows that landed were those of middleweight champion. After spending a full round beating up Costa’s lead leg, Adesanya finished the challenger with punches in the second round of the main event on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
The win is his 20th career MMA victory and so far, he is currentlyrrently unbeaten at 19-0.
