Senate Approves Tinubu’s List of Special Advisers
On Tuesday, Senator Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Senate, read President Tinubu’s request. The President’s letter to the Senate did not mention the names of the 20 Special Advisers. However, upon reading the letter, the upper legislative chamber promptly granted approval for the request.
Senator Lawan, while commenting on the request, emphasized the urgent need for the President to have his team to work with. He stated that since the names of the special advisers were not provided, they would approve the request nonetheless, considering it a matter of utmost urgency.
This development occurred shortly after Tinubu announced the appointment of Femi Gbajabiamila, the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, as his Chief of Staff, and Senator George Akume, the former Minister of Special Duties, as his Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
