Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and repeated attempts of bribery according to a report by Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old English player was convicted together with his brother Joe and their friend Christopher Sharman for an incident that took place during a family getaway on the island of Mykonos last Thursday.
The Police officers in the region claim that the three defendants were involved in an altercation over claims that Maguire’s sister was injected with a suspected “rape drug”.
They also claimed that a bribery attempt was made after the player and his colleagues were taken to the police station.
Though, Harry pleaded not guilty to all charges, but after a court hearing on Tuesday, he was found guilty as charged and was convicted.
It has not yet been disclosed, the degree of penalty Maguire and the others would face having been found guilty.
Meanwhile the towering defender was among the players listed in the squad of England manager Gareth Southgate for the upcoming Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.
