Hoodlums reportedly burn down the INEC office in Enugu South Local Government Area, Enugu State.
The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday night when the perpetrators stormed the INEC office situated at Enugu South LGA.
At the fire scene, the gunmen also shot and killed one of the security men guarding the commission’s premises and destroyed a major part of the building.

Meanwhile, a source from the village told Vanguard correspondent that they quickly called the Fire Service, who arrived quite a on time but could not proceed due to the dead body around the premises.
The Public Relations Officer of INEC, Mr. Victor Okafor remarked that the hoodlums only succeeded in burning the security house of the building.

However, the commission’s materials were not affected by the fire.
In addition, the PRO regretted that people still derive pleasure in burning INEC facilities despite the efforts put in place by the commission to make people’s vote count.
