Haitian President Shot Dead At his Residence
Jovenel Moise, president of Haiti has been killed by unknown gunmen, he was death at his private residence.
The authorities made the shocking announcement on Wednesday morning.
According to the reports, Jovenel was killed during the attack that took place around 1 am midnight at his residence.
The 53-year-old president’s wife, Martine Moise, was also shot in the attack that took place around 1 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) and was receiving medical treatment, Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said in a statement.
“A group of unidentified individuals, some of them speaking Spanish, attacked the private residence of the president of the republic and thus fatally wounded the head of state,” he said.
Before his death, protest against his governmental polices has been going on around the country of 11 million people.

His opponents accused him of overstaying his tenure that ended a long time ago, infact February 7th 2021, marked five years since his predecessor stepped down. He says his term started a year later, when he took office. For the past 18 months he has ruled by decree.
Corruption, vulnerability to natural disasters, resurgent gang violence, and disproportionate use of force by police against protesters remain major human rights concerns in Haiti.
