This will definitely come as a surprise to most people, but he seems to be right. Though, there is no scriptural law that prevents men from providing for women, neither is there any that said they “must” do so.
All of is bullshit. Quran doesn’t commands husbands to provide for women. The verse often used to back up those cliams doesn’t support this interpretaion AT ALL. All the quran says is that “men are the maintainers of women because of what they’ve spent on them”. WHERE is it said that men HAVE to provide for women? It’s literally never stated anywhere. The verse is just a statement of facts, a description of the gender roles that existed back then in Arabia. It doens’t say that men “have to be the maintainers” or that they “have to provide for women”, just that they provide for women and that it makes them their “maintainers”. Just learn how to read already!
