The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced the distribution of N10.9 billion Covid-19 palliatives accross the several states of the country.
According to a report by Channels TV, the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said his administration has started the distribution of relief materials worth around N10.9 billion to various households and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.
He made this claim while delivering a video speech on the first day of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday September 22.
“In order to mitigate its impact on Nigerians, our administration has commenced the disbursement of the sum of N10.9 Billion to households and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as palliatives,” President Buhari stated.
He said the distribution of the fund is part of the plans of his administration to reduce the suffering imposed on Nigerians as a result of Coronavirus.
Buhari also said that they will partner with the World Health Organisation and some other countries to ensure regular supply of safe and effective Coronavirus vaccines to all.
