Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aspirant has made his intentions known to support Peter Obi for his presidential race.
Doyin Okupe who had earlier declared interest in the 2023 presidential race, has made a public withdrawal and intends to support former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi.
He declared his withdrawal at a press conference at Abeokuta on Wednesday. His decision to withdraw was a result of the apex Yoruba group that had thrown their full support behind Peter Obi.
Okupe did not only withdraw from the race but also charged Nyesom Wike and another presidential aspirant to show full support to Peter Obi.
For him, Peter Obi is the best aspirant not only in Igboland but in Nigeria as a whole.
Doyin Okupe revealed that his decision was taken after several consultations with political stakeholders.
Okupe is a former National Publicity Secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC) and a former aide to Olusegun Obasanjo.
