Although healthy, strong, and lustrous hair is desired by almost everybody, the food you eat is also responsible for the nutrition your hair receives.

While people generally attribute their hair problems to genetics, stress and other factors, it might be surprising to know that a poor diet can also make your hair condition quite worse and even speed up hair loss.

1. Fried Foods

High consumption of high fat, fried foods can make you lose hair. These foods contain saturated and monounsaturated fats which can increase the levels of DHT hormones. Also, the hydrogenated oils can dominate over the essential fatty acids needed for hair growth.

Alcohol is dehydrating and regular intake of it makes your hair dry and brittle until they finally fall off.

3. Diet Soda

According to research, diet soda contains an artificial sweetener called aspartame which causes damage to hair follicles.

4. Raw Egg Whites

Consumption of raw egg whites result in biotin deficiency which leads to hair loss.

5. Fish

Once you notice that you’ve started losing much amount of hair suddenly, then you need to avoid taking fish because the high levels of mercury present in some fishes can contribute greatly to hair loss.
