In Southern Kaduna, Lot Dauda, a resident of Kaduna, was apprehended by Operation Safe Haven troops for the murder of Mrs. Dorathy Jonathan. This tragic incident occurred on September 1, 2023, in Afana village, Zango Kataf Local Government Area. The Nigerian Army disclosed this information via an official statement on September 14, 2023.
According to the statement, Dauda confessed to approaching Mrs. Dorathy while she was working on a farmland, attempting to engage in a non-consensual intimate encounter. She resisted, resulting in a violent and gruesome murder. Dauda also admitted to having an accomplice who remains at large. The arrest of Dauda was made possible through a well-coordinated manhunt conducted by OPSH troops, prompted by credible intelligence reports.
Currently, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the accomplice, and once the investigation concludes, Dauda will face charges in court. This incident highlights the importance of swift action by security forces to bring perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice.
