Nigerian youngster breaks Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga record

Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Jamal Musiala have created another record for himself after becoming the youngest player to score for Bayern Munich at 17 years 205 days.

It took just 9 minutes for Musiala to score Bayern’s last goal in their 8-0 demolition of Schalke 04, after replacing Gnabry in the 72nd minute.

Few months ago, the 6ft 2inches attacking midfielder became the youngest player to feature in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, after he made his first appearance against SC Freiburg.

Musiala was born in Stuggart to an British-Nigerian father and a German mother, but later moved with his family to England at the age of 7. The former Chelsea player trained with the Nigerian U-17 squad in 2017, but was forced to return to England as he came without a permission from the club.

He also played for some of the English youth teams, making him eligible to feature for any of Germany, England and Nigeria at the senior level.
