According to Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports, Brazilian star Neymar Jr is willing to accept a 50 per cent wage cut to secure a summer move to Barcelona from PSG.
Neymar reportedly earns £600,000-a-week under his current contract at Paris Saint Germain. But according to Mundo, the 28-year-old is willing to take a financial sacrifice to reduce his salary to £300,000-a-week, just to join favourite club Barcelona.
Neymar’s return to Camp Nou has been delayed for quite a long time with the French Champions setting his asking price to £175million.
However, new reports from the French media shows that PSG could reduce their asking price to around £132m in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian is doing everything he can to make sure he doesn’t stay in Paris beyond this summer. Back in November last year he rejected a new contract offer worth £90m from PSG.
Neymar has enjoyed a successful season with PSG, scoring 18 goals and contributing 10 assists in 22 matches across all competitions.
Together with Neymar, Barça are also determined to sign Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez when the window opens.
