UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has travelled to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, praising his “resolute leadership and the invincible heroism and courage of the Ukrainian people,” adding that the UK “stands unwaveringly with them in this ongoing fight … we are in it for the long run.”
Mr Johnson used the meeting to discuss giving more defensive aid to Ukraine, confirming the UK would send 120 armoured vehicles and anti-ship missile systems to Kyiv.
The prime minister also confirmed the UK would guarantee a further £500 million in World Bank lending to Ukraine, subject to parliamentary approval.
