Russia failed to show up at the United Nation’s top court on Monday.
The court hearing which was scheduled in the Netherlands was to request a stop in the current fight better Russia and Ukraine.
According to the International Court of justice, President Joan, “The Court regrets the non-appearance of the Russian Federation in these oral proceedings.”
In reaction to this, Alexander Shulgin, the Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands wrote to the court saying that his government (Russia) did not intend to participate.
Ukraine’s representative at the court, Anton Korynevych blamed Russia for not showing up at the peace Palace headquarters. He said that the fact that Russia’s seats are empty speaks loudly. Instead of appearing in a court of law, ” Russia is waging aggressive war against his country,” he added.
Ukraine proposed to the court to take conditional measures to suspend military operations.
For Korynevych, “Russia must be stopped, and the court has a role to play in stopping that.”
