According to a report in the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Manchester United is prepared to make a substantial investment of £69 million in the acquisition of Goncalo Ramos, the talented striker from Benfica.
This exciting development has been confirmed by Rui Costa, the president of Benfica, who believes that United will be willing to meet their asking price for the 22-year-old Portuguese player. Ramos has been the subject of interest from various top clubs, thanks to his impressive performance of 27 goals and 12 assists during the previous season.
Despite receiving an offer of approximately £52 million from an unidentified club, Costa is confident that United’s bid will surpass it.
In their pursuit of Ramos, Manchester United initially attempted to secure his services during the January transfer window. However, they were ultimately unable to finalize the deal and settled for Wout Weghorst on loan instead. The young striker had a phenomenal season, scoring 19 goals in the league, which greatly contributed to Benfica’s triumph in the Primeira Liga.
With such remarkable achievements, it is no wonder that top clubs are vying for the opportunity to sign Goncalo Ramos and harness his immense potential.
