Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has overtaken his rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Basketball star LeBron James in Forbes 2021 list of highest paid athletes in the world.
Forbes today revealed the World’s Top 10 Highest Paid Athletes ranking, who collectively earned over $1 billion over the last 12 months.
Mixed Martial Arts fighter Conor McGregor occupied the number 1 position for the first time in his career with a staggering $180 million over the last 12 months. Lionel Messi, the closest person to McGregor was placed in the second spot with earnings of $130 million, while Cristiano Ronaldo occupied the third place with $120 million.

American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Rayne Dakota Prescott, LA LeBron James and PSG star Neymar Jr. are ranked 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively.
