Big Blow For PSG As Messi Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Paris Saint-Germain attacker, Lionel Messi has tested positive for Covid-19, the club confirmed on Sunday 2nd January 2022.
According to the club’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, the 7th times Ballon d’Or winner Messi contracted the virus along with three other players ahead of the Coupe de France clash with Vannes on Monday.
According to Mauricio Pochettino, Messi will self quarantine in his hometown Argentina where he spent his Christmas holidays and will only return to the french capital when he tests negative to the deadly disease.

“The four players that tested positive for Covid-19 alongside Messi, are Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico and Nathan Bitumazala.
They are currently in isolation and are subject to the appropriate health protocol,” a statement from PSG read.
