5-year-old girl creates history in an 11.6km Ijebu marathon race

The race was put together by the National Youth Council of Nigeria and sponsored by the deputy minority leader Hon. Adesegun Adekoya also known as Attacker.

It’s participants were to cover an approximate distance of 11.6km (from Ijebu-Igbo Station to Ago-Iwoye garage).

Such a long distance would normally scare adults away, but this little girl was not intimidated. She stood in the midst of adults and ran the race to the finish line.

Although she came 17th in the female category, but she will go down in history as the youngest participant.

Meanwhile, another little girl of 9 years surprisingly finished in the 9th position during the race.

These talented little girls deserves to be nurtured into world-class athletes.
