In a tragic incident, the Imo State Police Command arrested 27-year-old Oluchi Nzemechi from Uzoagba in Ikeduru LGA for the fatal stabbing of her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, aged 31. The command’s spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, reported that Oluchi confessed to the crime, revealing that Kelechi had involved her in internet fraud, commonly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’.

The incident occurred on June 2 following a heated argument over a 250 million Rupiah scam they had executed on a victim in Indonesia. Oluchi admitted she was angry because Kelechi had refused to share the proceeds with her. In a fit of rage, she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the upper body.

In an attempt to mislead investigators, Oluchi wrote a note that read, “You think you can eat my money and go free. I am baba for the boys. I am coming for your wife and your child including your family,” and placed it on Kelechi’s body before fleeing the scene. She disclosed that she had been living with Kelechi since 2019 and they had a child together.
