UI, LASU tops list of six best Universities in Nigeria (2021)

University of Ibadan (UI) and Lagos State University (LASU) has topped a 2021 list of six best Universities in Nigeria.

Only six out of several Universities in Nigeria made it to the 2021 World University Ranking compiled by Times Higher Education (THE). The ranking includes more than 1,500 universities across 93 countries and regions

According to a report published Vanguard Newspaper, University of Ibadan, was ranked among the 401-500th best Universities in the world, while Lagos State University was placed among the 501-600 bracket.

Other Nigerian Universities included in the list are University of Lagos (601-800), Covenant University (801-1000), the University of Nigeria Nsukka (1000+) and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1001+).

The position of LASU in this list might be surprising to those that are not aware of their recent improvements in academic and infrastructural facilities under Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun administration.

There have been a consistent rise in local and international stock of the University in the last five years of his service.
