In a shocking incident that has captured attention across social media, three Boerboel dogs in the Pinnock Estate of Lekki allegedly attacked and killed a security guard around 4 a.m. The guard’s body was found lifeless hours later, leading to the arrest of the dogs’ owner, who now faces potential life imprisonment.

The estate is known for its relatively low fences, which some residents say make it challenging to contain large guard dogs. Reportedly, when the owners returned home late, they failed to secure the gates adequately and later released the dogs. The dogs apparently wandered beyond the property and allegedly encountered a patrolling security guard, leading to a tragic outcome.

However, some canine experts dispute the claims against the dogs, arguing that there were no clear bite marks on the guard’s body. They suggest the dogs might have simply been sniffing the guard in an attempt to identify him rather than attacking.

Despite this, the estate has taken swift action, with authorities detaining the dogs’ owner and initiating manslaughter charges under local law. The two dogs involved in the incident have reportedly been euthanized, adding to the ongoing debate over liability and animal behavior in the tragedy.
