President elect Joe Biden vows to eradicate HIV/AIDS during his tenure

Biden released an official statement on his Instagram page while joining the communities around the world to mark the World AIDS day.

How does he wish to achieve that? Biden stated that his and Kamala Harris administration will collaborate with activist, nurses, health experts and other public health officials to make U.S. an AIDS free state.

Eradicating the virus from United States wouldn’t be a walk in the park. According to HIV.gov over 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV today. About 14 percent of them (1 in 7) don’t know it and need testing.
