Premier League players have been cautioned about facing stricter consequences for harassing referees as part of a series of measures aimed at eradicating bad behavior on the pitch.
The English football authorities aim to change players’ and managers’ attitudes towards officials in the upcoming season. The new ‘Participant Charter’ empowers referees to take stronger action against unacceptable behavior, with support from the Football Association’s more stringent disciplinary measures.
Serious and repeat offenders may face increased financial penalties, while referees are encouraged to issue at least a yellow card if they are surrounded by two or more players.

Off the field, clubs will seek stronger sanctions against fans involved in football tragedy abuse, like chanting about the Hillsborough or Munich disasters. This behavior has no place in the game and can lead to football bans and potential criminal action.
