This is one of the many things the president elect has vowed to change when he is finally inaugurated.
The Paris deal was drafted in 2015 to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change but On June 1, 2017, United States President Donald Trump pulled out from the deal, citing that “the Paris accord will undermine the U.S. economy,” and “puts the U.S. at a permanent disadvantage.”
Trump insist that the Paris pullout in the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change is in accordance with his America First policy.
Trump says that if the US must rejoin in the agreement, then it must be on the on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, its taxpayers,” or form a new agreement.
