The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had earlier announced Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
Atiku noted that it was a difficult situation that he was called to take but he is not afraid to make difficult decisions.
Speaking on why he chose the Delta State Governor, Atiku stated that the governor possesses relevant qualities needed for the position of vice president.
•He pointed to the fact that Ifeanyi Okowa is a serving Governor of Delta State who has demonstrated in his State and through his conduct that governance is about service to the people, and believes that Okowa will help bring discipline and stability to their Government come 2023.
•Atiku further stated that his choice of running mate as Okowa is to get a helper who will lead the Party into victory in not only presidential elections but in governorship and legislative elections.
•Again, Atiku said that Okowa will be by his side as he works to provide the people with security, revive the economy and improve education.
