In a shocking incident that unfolded in Abule-Ori, a locality within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, unknown assailants, armed with guns, forcefully entered a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on Saturday. Tragically, the pastor of the church lost his life during the attack, while seven innocent worshippers were abducted.
The gravity of the situation prompted a swift response from the Commander of the So-Safe Corps, the state government’s security outfit. Soji Ganzallo, in confirming the incident, revealed that his officers courageously engaged in a rescue operation. With commendable determination, they successfully liberated the seven abducted church members from the clutches of their captors. Unfortunately, during the operation, one of the kidnappers was killed.
The Director of Information and Public Relations of So-Safe, Moruf Yusuf, issued a statement in Abeokuta, informing the public about the distressing event. According to Yusuf, the incident transpired in the early hours of Saturday, July 1, around midnight.
Ganzallo emphasized the urgency and seriousness with which the Corps approached the situation. He directed his officers to relentlessly pursue the suspects and ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims. Without hesitation, the dedicated officers sprang into action, their primary goal being the rescue of the captives unharmed.
