Big Brother Naija Lockdown winner Laycon has received an award from Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN) as ‘Ambassador Extraordinary’ and ‘Sickle Cell Global Advocate’.

The 27-year-old music star was delighted to share his new achievement with his social media followers.

“I’m very pleased to receive the awards for ‘Ambassador Extraordinary’ and ‘Sickle Cell Global Advocate’ presented by the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN),” he wrote on Instagram.

Laycon also used to avenue to encourage people with similar disorder not to be intimidated by their condition, but to look beyond it and achieve their dreams

“Your concern and dedication towards the proper care and control of sickle cell disorder in Nigeria is highly commendable,” he said.

“I plan to use my God-given platform to create more awareness about Sickle Cell Disorder in Nigeria and beyond.”

“To everyone with sickle cell disorder, do not be intimidated. You can achieve your dreams once you put your minds to it. Never allow people define you,” he concluded.

Recall that Laycon had at one time revealed he has ‘Sickle Cell’.

“My blood group is Sickle Cell, I don’t like to tell people my genotype because I feel they will think I’m sick,” he wrote via Twitter

Nevertheless, the young man did not allow his limitations to discourage him from achieving his goal. He’s indeed a genuine ICON.
