The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has temporarily suspended Channels Television with a fine of N5 million for allegedly breaching their broadcast code of conduct.
This suspension was made known to the Managing Director of Channels TV in a letter sent by the acting director of NBC Prof. Armstrong Idachaba.
NBC made reference to a live broadcast by Channels TV on Sunday, 25th April 2021, in which it accused the station of allowing a guest speaker of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB to make secessionist comments on air without caution.
