George Floyd: 19-Year-Old Protester Shot Dead In Detroit

What started as a peaceful protest with an intention of getting justice for George Floyd who was killed by white Minneapolis police officer is now turning into something else.

On Saturday a 19-year-old boy who happens to be one the protesters, protesting George Floyd’s death in the hands of the white Minneapolis police officer was shot and killed after someone in an SUV fired multiple shots into a crowd of demonstrators, Detroit police spokeswoman said.

According to the police spokeswoman Sergent Nicole Kirkwood, the victim was a 19-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect pulled up in a Dodge Durango and fired shots into the crowd, she said.

No details about the victim or the person who fired the shot or shots were immediately available, Kirkwood said.

Thousands accross the United States have defied the government coronavirus lockdown to protest not just the death of George Floyd but the manner in which he was killed.

George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man died in the hands of Minneapolis white police who for more than eight minutes was kneeling on his neck after handcuffing him.

In the viral video shared of social media by bystanders, George Floyd before his death begged the heartless police officer to allow him breath, in the video George could be heard saying;

“Please i can’t breath, Please let me breath”

but the officer ignored and allowed him to die.

On Friday the white Minneapolis officer was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
