Catalan giants FC Barcelona have reportedly banned their players from showering at the club’s facilities after their training for till further notice.
It is forbidden for the players to shower after matches or training as a result of the shortage of water in Catalan. The city is currently in the suffering a long-term drought due to limited rainfall in Spain since September 2022.
Local authorities have foretold that water bills will increase in the city and that the permitted water consumption has dropped from 230 litres a day to 210.

Because of the ongoing drought, Barcelona’s first team were told not to limit the use of water in their stadium due to the need to preserve water and have been warned that they would have to compensate themselves if they continue using it at the same rate.
