The Edo State incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was declared the winner of the Edo State just concluded governorship election held on Saturday 2020 after recording a massive number of votes to defeat his to defeat his fiercest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu-Iyamu of the APC.
Obaseki polled a total of 307, 955 votes to defeat All Progressives Congress’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu-Iyamu who got 223, 619 votes, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
After collating results of eighteen local governments in the state, INEC through it’s Returning Officer, Prof Akpofure Rim-Rukeh announced Obaseki winner of September, 19, 2020 governorship election.

PDP Obaseki won 13 of 18 local governments in Edo State while Ize-Iyamu won in five local governments.
The results from the election has generated alot of reactions expecially with the hashtag #EdoDecides, with many prominent men and women taking to their social media accounts to congratulates Obaseki while others mock Adams Oshiomhole.
One of the reactions which has gotten alot of people laughing is coming from Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi West.
In a celebration video shared on his social media account, the controversial Senator who will be remembered for his fenting skills composed a songs which mocks Adams Oshiomhole, describing him as Oshopikin,lol.
