Edo State Government Places Bounty Of N250k On Prison Escapees (Photos)

Edo govt offers N250k rewards On Prison Escapees.

The Edo state government has placed a reward of two hundred and fifty thousand naira for anybody with useful information on the whereabout of escapees of Benin Medium Security Correctional Centre and Oko Medium Security Correctional Centre at the height of the #endsars protest.

At least 1,993 inmates escaped after suspected hoodlums broke into two different correctional facility in the state on 19th October 2020 during the #endsars protests across the country.

After the jailbreaks in the two centres by hoodlums, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki however called on the escaped prisoners to return voluntarily or face the wrath of the law.

The government is now willing to pay as much as two hundred and fifty thousand naira to anyone with useful information that will help rearrest the escaped prisoners.

A website has been created by the state government with details of the escapees is on the public domain.
