The registrar of the National Examination Council NECO, Godswill Obioma has reportedly been murdered in Minna, Niger State.
The wife of the deceased, Mrs. Elizabeth Obioma said her husband was assassinated in his residence by some unknown gunmen on Monday night.
“The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,” Elizabeth tearfully told Peoples Gazette.
Her husband had just returned to Minna from Abuja when the armed men who were lurking in his compound, descended on him and strangled him.
It was gathered that late Obioma (67), who hails from Abia State, had been facing attempts to remove him from office as the head of NECO.
The incident came barely a day after Ahmed Gulak, a top politician of the ruling All Progressive Congress, was gunned down in Owerri, raising widespread fears of insecurity.
