• Drink enough water to help you stay hydrated. Water aids in loosening secretions and bringing up phlegm.

• Don’t take cough medicines without talking to your doctor first. It could be a way your body works to get rid of the infection.

• Take more warm beverages. Herbal teas, steamy baths, and a humidifier to help open your airways for easy breathing.

• Take plenty of rest. This may need you to spend some time in bed. You may need to stay away from certain house chores too.

• Control fever, whether high or persistent, it could be a symptom of severe infection.

• Limit contact with family and friends to keep germs from spreading.

 

Failure to manage Pneumonia properly can lead to respiratory failure or uncontrolled inflammation in the body.

Health tip: Visit the hospital if the symptom has not improved and if you are over the age of 50.
