  • Heat or humidity that comes from closed shoes. This heat and humidity draw moisture from the skin.
  • Aging – Older people tend to experience dry skin more than people who are younger of age.
  • Lack of moisture- Dry or cracked feet is mostly caused because the feet have fewer oil glands.

2. Use a foot file or pumice stone

People use a pumice stone or foot file to remove dry skin. Just soak the feet in warm water to soften the dead skin, use stone or file to remove dead skin, and dry and moisturize your skin.

3. Moisturize regularly

Constant moisturizing of the feet will help reduce dry skin and prevent new dry skin from accumulating.  When choosing moisturizers, avoid moisturizers with alcohol or added fragrance. Instead, use products that have plant-based ingredients like coconut oil, butter, and oil.

4. Exfoliate

This involves removing dead skin on feet using physical or chemical exfoliants. For physical exfoliants, you could use a foot scrub or body brush while using chemical exfoliants take the form of liquids. They contain ingredients that remove dead cells on the surface of the skin such as glycolic acid or lactic acid.
