Hilda Baci has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the new holder of the longest cooking marathon. The confirmation was made on Tuesday through an announcement on their official website.
According to the post, after a thorough evaluation of the evidence, Guinness World Records has verified that Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has successfully broken the record for the longest individual cooking marathon. She achieved this feat by cooking continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
The 26-year-old Nigerian chef commenced her cooking marathon on Thursday, May 11, and concluded on Monday, May 15. Throughout the four-day period, she prepared over 100 pots of food.
Hilda initially aimed to set a record of 100 hours. However, due to mistakenly taking extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early in the attempt, nearly seven hours were deducted from her final total.
The previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes was held by Lata Tondon from India in 2019.
