1. Stay hydrated always

A person with sickle cell disease should drink enough water every day. At least 8-10 glasses of water every day. It will help them live longer.

 

2. Stay fit

Engaging in physical activities will help people with sickle cell stay alive longer. Remember to take enough water before working out. Also, get rest at intervals, and don’t overwork yourself when you engage in sporty activities.

 

3. Prevent infection

Being a sickle cell carrier can make you prone to diseases and infection. So take vaccines and immunization, especially for children. Be conscious of your human health and know when to visit the hospital.

 

4. Stay warm

Extreme weathers are not good for a sickle cell carrier and can aggravate the disease. Avoid extremely hot or cold weather. Try to stay warm at all times.

7. Avoid smoking

Smoking or being close to a Secondhand smoke could reduce the flow of blood. Therefore, stay away from smoke.

 

8. Avoid stress

Sickle cell carriers who go through stress can make their condition worse. A person with sickle cell should have the most rest.

 

9. Get a support system.

Generally, people tend to do well when they are being encouraged to do so. , when you are a sickle cell carrier, join support groups that could give you a sense of belonging and motivate you.
