Recall that the 32-year-old midfielder recently asked his fellow Super Eagles players to boycott their upcoming games to support the #EndSARS protest.
“There are games coming up and if we boycott these games I’m sure they’ll know we’ve made a statement … I believe most of my colleagues understand where I’m coming from,” Ogu told the BBC network.

However, in one of his recent posts on Twitter John Ogu apologized to Nigerians for his comments stating they came in the heat of the moment.
Some of his followers thought he was forced to tender such public apology, but he insisted it was for the unity of football.
