Ligue 1 has set up a disciplinary committee that will investigate Neymar’s claims of being racially abused by Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez during their 1-0 loss against Marseille on Sunday.
Various sources informed ESPN that the league’s disciplinary committee will gather in a meeting on Wednesday September 16, to examine the ugly incident which the led referee Jerome Brisard to send several players including Neymar off the pitch.
The LFP will also look into the possibility of launching an investigation into Marseille allegations that Angel Di Maria spat on their player Alvaro Gonzalez.
If any of these players are found guilty of the allegations, it will attract a penalty of 6-10 match ban along with a fine, according to the French Federation’s rules.
Meanwhile, Neymar was one-out-of the five players (Layvin Kurzawa, Leandro Paredes, Dario Benedetto and Jordan Amavi) that was sent off at stoppage time after an altercation led to a fight.
The world’s most expensive footballer said after the game at Parc des Princes and in a series of tweets that he was racially abused by Alvaro Gonzalez.
VAR pegar a minha “agressão” é mole … agora eu quero ver pegar a imagem do racista me chamando de “MONO HIJO DE PUTA” (macaco filha da puta)… isso eu quero ver!
