Thus, Cristiano Ronaldo paid nearly €100,000 per year to the Italian tax authorities, even though he earned €31M net per year just from his contract with Juventus. That advantage would have ended this summer if the five-time Ballon d’Or had decided to leave La Vieille Dame to another club that’s not in England.

Il Sole 24 Ore indeed pointed out that in England, Cristiano Ronaldo would not only pay less taxes than in Italy, but he should simply not pay any more at all! That is because he is a resident in the United Kingdom.
