Austin Eguavoen announced his resignation after super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World cup in Qatar.
He will return to the role of Technical Director of all national team.

According to Vanguard, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has withdrawn the two and half years contract offered to Eguavoen earlier and terminated the appointments of the entire technical crew with immediate effect. A new crew will be announced after a proper review.
