If not for anything else, for the fact that the winner will go home with the grand prize of N90M, not forgetting also that there are more competitors this year than the previous years.
It is expected that each of the contestants will do everything he/she can to lay his hands on the grand prize. That of course includes thinking outside the box or coming with a strategy that will enhance their chances in the game.
No doubt Pere Egbi who happens to be one of the top contenders of this year’s edition is doing everything he can to make sure he reaches the final. But the way he’s going about it doesn’t seem right in the eyes of people including his colleagues.
For reasons best known to him, Pere sees Whitemoney as his major rival in the big brother’s house. He must have figured that out from the moment Whitemoney stepped into the house. It’s not a bad idea for him to have identified his archrival, in fact that’s one of the most important things to do in a game like that.
However, it is extremely wrong to become a thorn in the flesh of your fellow man all in the name of a game. Pere has used several strategies (accusations, intimidation and bullying) to frustrate Whitemoney.
He initially accused him of having a prior knowledge of who the wildcards are before the show officially began. Next, he accused him of using his cooking skills as a strategy to avoid nomination. As a result, he got him out of the kitchen when he was the head of house. In all these, Whitemoney kept his cool and never for once did he challenge Pere.
When Pere saw that all his efforts to frustrate Whitemoney was not yielding any result, he tried to bully him in front on front of their fellow housemates.
He probably wanted to get Whitemoney so angry that he would retaliate physically and get a strike by big brother. But unfortunately for him, that didn’t happen.
When they were called for dialogue by the current head of house Maria, Pere alleged that his grudge against Whitemoney started when he refused to shake him properly on their first day in the house.
But a video of Whitemoney freely shaking and hugging Pere recently surfaced on the internet, to rubbish that claim.

To be honest, I strongly believe that Pere’s attitude towards Whitemoney is all a game. Even his friend Uti Nwachukwu vouched that Pere’s recent actions doesn’t reflect his true personality.
If that is so, then someone needs to tell him that he’s doing more harm than good to his reputation in front of millions of viewers.
He may be able to convince a few people that what he did in the big brother’s house was just an act, but it will be very difficult to convince millions of people to believe that story.
